Doug Pedersen
Doug is a Seattle-based business economist and principal of
Doug Pedersen & Associates. Specializing in regional economics
covering the Pacific Northwest states and metropolitan areas,
he regularly consults on, forecasts, and writes about business
conditions and prospects. He has participated in numerous studies of
the regional economy and is experienced and skilled in using
economic information to aid business and government decision-
making. His clients have included Bank of America, The Boeing
Company, HomeStreet Bank, Washington Forest Protection
Association, Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce, City of Renton,
City of Everett, and City of Bellevue.
Doug has an M.B.A. in business economics and a B.A. in
mathematics from the University of Washington. Prior to entering
private practice in 1992, Doug spent sixteen years as a business
economist for Rainier Bank and Security Pacific Bank, where he
advised customers as well as senior management of the bank. He
also published a quarterly economic newsletter and an annual
economic review on behalf of the bank.
He is past member of the Washington State Governor's Council of
Economic Advisors, a participant on the Western Blue Chip Panel of
Economic Forecasters, and past President of the Seattle chapter of
the National Association for Business Economics. He also serves on
the Board of Directors of the Washington Research Council.
